We connect with, serve, and are members of Life Change Church in Muskegon and love where the Lord leads us. Amber started a daycare to be available to our kids, and life just kept getting better, and better. In 2012, we prayed about how to make a difference in children’s lives and knew foster care was the way to do so. Amber closed her daycare, and we applied for a foster care license a short time later. We loved and enjoyed the foster parent journey with its excitement, joy, and challenges for over three years. Our boys were adopted into a forever family and now Amber currently serves on the board of Kids Belong, where all kids belong with great families and a resource for foster and adoptive families. If you want to support this wonderful organization please reach out to Amber. I assist with Kids Belong by volunteering at some of their wonderful events hosted at various churches throughout our community and I am Amber's donation retrieval specialist lol, otherwise known as picking up anything she tells me too. Amber just wrapped up at The Hope Project as a teen mentor and currently is a member of Woman's Division Chamber of Commerce since 2019 where they fundraise for local charities serving Muskegon County Residents.
We have a daughter, Mackenzie who graduated from Hillsdale College in May 2018, and married Matt in October of 2021. They just bought their first home and reside in Grand Rapids. Mackenzie is an Office Manager and loves the behind the scene work just like her mom. Our son, Hudson who graduated from North Muskegon High School in 2020. He bought a house last year in Saint Louis, the Michigan one! He is a hands on kind of young man and is learning the Mechanic trade at My Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram in Mount Pleasant. I have volunteered as a soccer coach over the years, and have had the pleasure to watch some pretty awesome kids grow their skills both on and off the field. Amber and I both serve on the Advisory Board of the CTC Construction Trades program. We offer input for administration to tweak curriculum and encourage students about careers in the trades. We do mock interviews and even hire students on a 'intern' basis. Due to the growth of Creations by Brian LLC, Amber is now full time working behind the scenes as my office manager, and we will be celebrating 30 years of marriage in May 2025.
